In this not starting Whirlpool washer page you will find links to videos that will show you the different parts that you need to check to determine why your Whirlpool washer is not starting.
Wall Outlet: Before you start taking the washer apart make sure that there is electricity on the wall outlet. You could use a multimeter to check the voltage at the wall outlet. If you don't have a multimeter, just connect something like a hair dryer, a radio or any other electric appliance to make sure that the wall outlet is live.
Cabinet Removing: Once you are sure that electricity is not the cause why your washer is not starting, then you should learn how to take the washer apart and how to put it back together again properly.
Power Cord: One of the parts that you should check first is the washer power cord to make sure that electricity is flowing from the wall outlet to the washer
Lid Or Door Switch: A broken door or lid switch could be the reason why your Whirlpool direct drive washer is not starting at all. On the older washers the door switch only stop the motor from running during the spin cycle.
The Timer: A bad timer could also be the reason why your Whirlpool direct drive washer is not starting.
The Motor: A bad motor could also be the cause why your Whirlpool made washer is not starting. Sometimes the motor could work OK for 1 load of washing and then overheat preventing the motor to start or work again until it cool down.
